Avery Augusto

Meet Avery Augusto, a talented and passionate 2021 Graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Game Design Degree Program at Sheridan College with an innate love for video games that traces back to his childhood.  Avery’s unique journey into the world of game design began with his parents, who introduced him to the thrill of interactive entertainment.

From the moment he held a Sega Dreamcast controller in his hands, Avery’s fascination with video games sparked an insatiable curiosity for their creation. He spent countless hours exploring immersive worlds, delving into captivating stories, and engaging in high-octane action. It was during these years that Avery developed a deep appreciation for the artistry and technical prowess required to bring these experiences to life.

Thanks to the exceptional computer department at Avery’s high school, he already has eight years of programming experience. The department’s comprehensive curriculum and dedicated teachers provided Avery with a solid foundation in coding, enabling him to explore various programming languages and tackle complex projects.

Throughout his academic journey, Avery’s unwavering dedication and passion for game design propelled him forward. He excelled in his studies, immersing himself in the intricacies of game programming and design. Eager to enhance his skills, Avery garnered knowledge from industry experts, attended networking events, and actively participated in game competitions.

Avery’s love for games extends to a myriad of genres, but he holds a special place in his heart for certain titles that have left a lasting impact on his creative spirit. Games like “A Hat in Time” ignited his love for charming and whimsical worlds. “Cuphead” enchanted him with its stunning hand-drawn visuals and challenging gameplay. “Katana Zero” stands out as a masterclass in gripping storytelling and precision-based action. Beyond the realm of platformers, Avery recently ventured through the Ace Attorney franchise, a captivating blend of courtroom drama, engaging narrative, and clever puzzle-solving. And finally, Avery’s love for racing games found its perfect match in the classic “Re-Volt.”

As Avery embarks on his professional journey, he strives to blend his technical expertise, artistic flair, and love for compelling narratives to craft immersive and unforgettable gaming experiences.
